Introduced in fall 2025, the Making Business Easier Act is designed to improve efficiency in the mining sector, support responsible resource development, and drive economic growth across the province while maintaining our high standards of protection for people and the environment. Actions include: 

  • Developing red tape reduction action plans—starting with resource sectors—to identify and eliminate unnecessary requirements. 
  • Undertaking a comprehensive review of mining regulations to identify further opportunities for modernization and improvement. 
  • Implementing a reimagined single‑window service to streamline interactions with government. 
  • Reviewing mining‑related fees to identify opportunities for reimbursement or elimination. 
  • Developing a policy to recognize qualified persons involved in mineral resource projects.
